Double Concave Mirror Image
Purpose
Two concave mirrors placed face-to-face create a real 3D image of a small object that appears to float above the aperture. Students learn about real image formation, focal point geometry, and ray tracing with curved mirrors.
Figure 1:
The toy pig is positioned at the focal point of the upper mirror on the lower concave mirror surface. This precise positioning ensures parallel ray reflection from the upper mirror.
