Microphone and Oscilloscope
Purpose
Visualizes sound as waveforms on an oscilloscope. Students see the connection between pitch and frequency, loudness and amplitude, and timbre and waveform shape by comparing tuning forks, voices, and instruments in real time.
Figure 1:
Complete demonstration setup showing the microphone capturing sound from a tuning fork, with the resulting waveform displayed on the oscilloscope screen. The preamp and speaker allow for simultaneous audio playback and visual analysis.
