Wave Interference Transparency
Purpose
Demonstrates constructive and destructive interference in a double-slit geometry using a projected transparency. Students see how path difference from two coherent sources determines where maxima and minima appear on a screen. Provides visual foundation for Young's double-slit experiment.
Figure 1:
Projected transparency showing double-slit interference. Two point sources emit circular wavefronts; sinusoidal waves travel along paths to a screen at top. The two panels show constructive and destructive interference at different screen positions.
